Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 August 2026
Runlist is a checklist app that runs entirely on your device. There is no Runlist server, no Runlist account database, and no analytics. This policy is short because there is genuinely little to describe.
What stays on your device
Your checklists and run history. Checklists are .runlist
files and run logs are .runlog files, stored in your own iCloud
container — the one tied to your Apple Account, which we cannot read. If iCloud
is unavailable they are kept in the app's local storage instead. They are never
transmitted to us, because there is nowhere to transmit them to.
Your sign-in. Signing in with Apple gives the app a stable identifier for your Apple Account, plus your name and email address only if you choose to share them. If you use Hide My Email, Apple gives us a relay address and never your real one. All of it is stored on your device and nowhere else. Apple only provides your name and email the first time you authorize, which is why the app keeps them locally.
Your settings. Theme, layout, and preferences live in the app's local storage.
What Apple handles, not us
Payments. Subscriptions are purchased and managed through the App Store. We never see your payment details, card, or billing address — Apple confirms only that a subscription exists and when it expires.
Each purchase carries an appAccountToken: a one-way identifier derived from
your sign-in so a future version of Runlist could recognise your subscription across your
devices. It cannot be reversed into your Apple Account identifier, your name, or your
email.
Sign in with Apple and iCloud sync are Apple services, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
What you can choose to send us
Problem reports. "Report a problem" composes an email that you send, containing recent app logs plus your device model, iOS version, app version, and locale. Nothing is sent unless you send it, and you can read and edit the message first. Logs record app events — not the contents of your checklists.
That is the only path by which any data reaches us, and it requires a deliberate act on your part every time.
What we do not do
- No analytics, tracking, or behavioural profiling
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No third-party SDKs that collect data
- Nothing sold, shared, or brokered — there is no data to sell
- No account on any server, because there are no servers
Deleting your data
- Your account record: You ▸ Delete account erases the stored sign-in on the device. Because the account exists only on your device, this deletes all of it.
- Fully revoke access: Settings ▸ your name ▸ Sign in with Apple ▸ Runlist ▸ Stop Using Apple Account.
- Your checklists: they are your files in your iCloud Drive — delete them as you would any file, or delete the app.
- Your subscription: manage or cancel at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
Children
Runlist is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published here with a new date, and significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
